Coastline Pizza

Overview

Coastline Pizza approached me to design a logo for their signature Detroit-style pizza.

Inspired by the rectangular shape of the pizza and the “coastline” between the cheese and crust, I created a jagged rectangular frame that reflects both the product’s geometry and the negative space that defines its unique character.

Role

Designer, logo concept development, typography, final production files

Deliverables

  • Primary logo mark

  • Logo variations for print and digital use

  • Files for signage, packaging, and merchandise applications

Key design decisions

  • The logo is directly inspired by the Detroit-style pizza shape and the “coastline” edge that makes it distinctive.

  • The jagged frame creates a recognizable shape that feels unique and memorable without being complicated.

  • The mark was built to reproduce clearly across packaging, signage, social media, and merchandise.

  • The final design holds up at small sizes while still having character at larger applications.

Outcome

A distinctive logo that connects directly to the product and has been successfully applied across customer-facing touchpoints, including signage, packaging, and merchandise such as hats, t-shirts, and staff uniforms.
